This is a fee-for-service private practice and payment is expected following each consultation. The fee depends on the length and complexity of the consultation and patients will be given an estimate when an appointment is made. A proportion of this fee can be claimed from Medicare for Australian residents. The physicians at the practice utilise the ‘no gap’ billing schemes of the private health funds to minimise out-of-pocket costs for inpatient services.

Please note that private health insurance is necessary to access services, procedures and treatments at National Capital Private Hospital, such as bone marrow biopsy, chemotherapy treatment, blood product infusions and venesection through the Day Chemotherapy and Infusion Unit within the hospital. A quote for any ‘out of pocket’ costs will be provided by NCPH prior to commencement of treatment. Most health funds have a negotiated agreement with NCPH which limits any gap fees, but the annual excess payment on your policy will still apply. NCMS advises that you check your level of coverage with your health fund.
